Sarah Whittington
Sarah has been playing with Dronfield Band on principal euphonium since 2009.
She started learning the instrument when she was nine and played with Staffordshire Youth Brass Band throughout her time at school.
She went on to study music at The University of Birmingham, specialising in euphonium performance where she studied under David Childs and Alwyn Green, and also established a University Brass Band. Moving to Durham to study for a PGCE in Secondary Music teaching, Sarah also played with the Durham University Brass Band.
After securing her first music teaching job at Outwood Academy Portland in Worksop, Sarah moved to Chesterfield, and joined Dronfield Brass Band! She is extremely excited to have recently become the Musical Director of Dronfield Training Band and has very high ambitions for the band.
